This will probably be my most solemn blog post ever, but I think it’s important to share.
I felt like blogging tonight and I knew it had to be Grace and Mac’s wedding from last Summer. Not just because it was beautiful, but because of one special event that in my 8 years of shooting I’ve never come across.
After the traditional father/daughter, mother/son dances, Mac invited his grandmother to join him on the dance floor for a grandmother/grandson dance. As soon as they entered the dance floor my eyes started to swell. It was one of the sweetest moments of their day and it immediately had me thinking of my own grandparents and how important they were to me on my own wedding day. You could tell Mac was so close to both his grandparents, I wanted to make sure I kept them as a priority to document throughout the night.
I know what these moments mean to my clients, but since losing my own grandmother, it has completely enhanced my idea on how precious these types of connections are and what it means to document them.
I hope that Mac, Grace and their families can enjoy these beautiful moments long after the special people in their lives have passed on and continue to bring them endless joy.
